The origins of fitness boxing

Fitness boxing has its roots in traditional boxing but was adapted for recreational sport in the 1980s and 1990s. Boxing elements were combined with aerobics and functional training methods, without physical contact and with a clear focus on health. Modern forms of fitness boxing, as practised at Park Igls, strengthen the back, support metabolism and improve stress resilience – making it one of the most effective full-body training methods.
